I am in the final stages of a NERC-funded PhD in avian ecotoxicology. My current research studies the exposure and consequences of organic pollutants in the Alpine swift (Tachymarptis melba) at the University of Aberdeen, in collaboration with the Swiss Ornithological Institute (Vogelwarte).
Previous research opportunities have included the effects of food insecurity on daily weight trajectories in the European starling (Sturnus vulgaris) at Newcastle University; and the effects of parent-offspring competition in the burying beetle (Nicrophorus vespilloides) at the University of Edinburgh.
My passion is academic research and I hope to continue developing my skills in the application of avian ecology to understand natural or anthropogenic environmental stressors.
